Finding good horses for new owners based on what the owner is looking for. There are not a lot of ready to ride horses out there and I do not believe anything a seller tells me until I try a horse. One client of mine and I drove from Norco all the way to Phelan to look at and try a horse that was supposed to be ready to go. I knew without seeing him walk, that the horse was lame. Seller knew I was a broker/trainer. I have since found him a good one that was ready to go at a fair price. I also found his wife an awesome paint gelding that had lost its power steering and his confidence in riders. He lost these because the owner had her young daughter on him too many times without giving her riding lessons. She paid $2,500 for him and put about $350 in training. She would have no problem getting $3,500 for him now! I also train, tune up and market horses for sale. I really do good work and like I said, there are not many that are ready to go and the market is coming back. One horse I have finished off for the owner was listed at $3,500. I have tuned him up and fixed some issues and he is now posted in all horse related shops in town, on more than 17 sites on the internet at $4,800 and getting a huge response. You can email me at mistyblue0@gmail.com to see a copy of the flier. It shows him crossing a river, climbing, stopping to hit a light button on 6th Street with a big semi rolling up behind him (one of his issues, he spooked at everything).
