We have done extensive research in the horse shavings industry. This is the result of this research. Many manufacturers and distributors of horse shavings products do not care where their product comes from. A lot of the samples that we came across were not what the manufacturer or distributor claimed it would be. Examples we obtained were made from recycled wood products that were possibly taken from construction sites, demolition projects, old milled wood and furniture.
They claimed it was 100% pure pine but after testing several shavings samples, many were made from wood by-products. One of our samples smelled like furniture varnish and after testing the evidence was clear.
Many claimed their product was kiln dried, which would actually produce a very dry product. However, we found samples that felt wet to the touch and after testing for moisture content, found them to be in the levels of 15-18% moisture. Another sample we obtained actually had mold growing on the shavings, which is not acceptable.
Dust was a major concern for us as well. All tested products had unacceptable dust levels.
Our company takes pride in our horses and the conditions they live in. We know what it is like to muck out a stall and to throw away good shavings with the soiled. As a result of our extensive and continuing research, we have a found a solution as to what is needed to obtain the most superior product on the market.

Our soft pine wood is forested and delivered the same day to our manufacturing plant. From there it is milled to small flake. With this size shaving there is virtually no waste which saves you time and money. Our shavings are screened for dust multiple times in key areas of the manufacturing process to provide a virtually dust free product. From there the shavings are kiln dried to 6% moisture content which allows almost no shavings to stick to the manure and also allows the urine to make a clump for easy removal. Our shavings are then bagged to provide our clients with the freshest smelling pine dust-free and driest shavings available on the market today.
