As a former student of the Kentucky Horseshoeing School, I currently service horses within Ohio, Indiana and Southern Michigan and specialize in the trimming/shoeing of stock type Performance show Horses. I also on a regular basis shoe and trim miniature horses, mules, donkeys, pleasure riding trail horses, drafts, ponies and gaited horses for customers as well.
I begin the shoeing/trimming process begins with a basic evaluation the horse from all angles. A quick evauluation the horse looking at not just the hooves and legs but the conformation of the entire horse gives me an idea of what i am working with. I usually have the owner walk each horse to and away from me to check for any unsoundness issues or lamenesses that may be present and that need to be addressed. My rule of thumb is "You can’t balance a horse if you don’t recognized and understand the imbalances found in each horses conformation" and "No hoof, no Horse". Being a professonal trainer of AQHA level western pleasure and Hunter horses as well as a Judge, i have a very knowledgable understandind of lameness, conformation, movement, and way of going of all breeds of horses.
My current Fees are as follows:
Trims: $25.00 (horses, minis, ponies, mules, donkeys) Draft Trims : $40.00 Full Set Steel Shoes $75.00 Full Set, Aluminum Front $80.00 Steel Fronts Only $65.00 Aluminum Fronts only $70.00
