I love this saddle, but it no longer fits my mare since she's been brought back into work, so I really need to find something new. Crosby saddles are known for their classic styling, quality materials and exceptional construction. This saddle was made in England (not a cheap Argentinean or Pakistani saddle) It is the slightly more modern style of PdN, meaning it has the padded suede flaps. This is a close contact model which was made with knee blocks, but they were removed before I purchased it. I'm sure that a good tack shop/saddle repair person could easily replace them. I always like the feel without them, so it made no difference to me. The saddle is 17" but I can sit it and I usually like a 17 1/2" and the flaps are long enough for me (I'm 5'7" with a 34" inseam) on the flat. This is also a wide tree, as is denoted by the "W" stamped on the stirrup bar (shown in one of the pictures.) The wear on the flaps is normal (it looks a lot lighter in the picture than it actually is), all of the leather is butter soft and in very good condition (spring seat and all!) ***THE ONLY BLEMISH*** In this saddles life it was apparently bounced off the ground because there is a split in the leather at the back of the cantle on the near side. It isn't very evident, from a distance it just looks like a dark mark on the saddle, since it has sort of healed itself up. I DO NOT KNOW HOW this occurred, it was there when I purchased the saddle used and never heard the story from the previous owner. It HAS NOT EFFECTED the fit or rideablity of the saddle, a cosmetic flaw only! This is a GREAT saddle for schooling or open shows and has MANY years of service left in it, so please take a look! This is a great saddle for hunt seat equitation, hunter english pleasure or any other hunter class. Shipping is NOT included in the price, and will be calculated based on location.
