Lebanon Ohio - Dancing Horse Farm's annual Halloween on Horseback is October 31-November 1 2009. It is our annual weekend to host a friendly ghosts and goblins in a Dressage Schooling Show on Saturday and a Fun Show on Sunday.
Costumes are MANDATORY for both shows!
The goal of the weekend is to host an exciting and rewarding show series for all ages and abilities to enjoy. Show manager, Jennifer Truett, is accepting entries for each class until 10 days prior to the event. Riders must submit their entry forms and fees ($20 per Dressage class, $15 per fun class) no later than October 21, 2009. Attendance is free for spectators. Winning competitors will receive ribbons for first through sixth place; Champion prizes will also be awarded. Whether a rider is just beginning or wants to compete at a higher level, all competitors at DHF come to have fun. “The goals of our show series are to encourage riders and increase confidence in the show ring. There is always excitement with a competition,” said Jennifer Truett, “ but there should also be fun.”
The Dayton Local Show Circuit, The Dressage Company, and Mid-Ohio Dressage Association sanction DHF Shows. Saturday’s class schedule offers the typical dressage show classes, Intro-Second Level or higher. There are Musical Freestyle and Quadrille classes as well – if you have not seen a horse “dance”, please come and watch The DHF Quadrille Team! Sunday’s Fun Show is all about FUN with Gymkhana classes and Doug Sorrell to judge and entertain everyone with his wit and charm. As always, delicious food will be available throughout the weekend thanks to Stillwater Stables Youth Program. Lunch and snacks will be offered with proceeds going to this wonderful program.
The judges are Marge Cunningham, USDF “L” Grad; and Fun Show Judge: Doug Sorrell. The Technical Delegate (TD) is Cathy Jacobs. Showing will be in two arenas the 100' x 240' outdoor and 75' x 200' indoor arena with ample warm-up areas available. Stabling is available with advance notice.
