I am 16 yrs. old who will be 17 in September and have not had that much work with horses. I have worked as a volunteer at Wings of Eagle Ranch for 2 summers as the barn and pasture help. I also took a couple of riding camps in 4-H and also to boot, I'm horse crazy.
As I said, not a whole lot of horse experience. I am experienced in cleaning hoofs, feeding, washing, saddling, and some experience cleaning tack, though not much.I can also heft up to 75 pound hay bales. My specialty though is cleaning stalls. I've been told I go beyond the call of duty in this department because I am so nit-picky about how clean my stalls are. But what can I say, if I were the horse I'd like a clean stall too.
I can learn whatever you need me to fast.I don't mind the smell of manure(to me it actually smells nice but that's just me)and I also don't mind getting dirty. I'm located in Kannapolis but can travel up to 20 miles away. I have my valid drivers license and can drive muck and hay trucks when needed to. When asked I can provide references and my resume for you too. I am a homeschooler and have reasonably flexible hours but some hours may be off limits, such as Monday and Wednesday from 8:30am to 3:15pm, because I have dual enrollment classes at the community college. If you are interested in the times I am available for work just call and we can discuss them. I would like this job to extend past the summer but if you only want to hire me for the summer that's okay.
I am posting this ad because I am thinking about going into large animal veterinary practice when I go to college and I would like some experience before I decide to see if this profession is for me.
I really cannot do this job for nothing as I have to pay for gas so I am asking for a pay of at least $6.00 an hour and it may rise depending on how far away you live from me. If you want to pay me more than that I'm fine with that. Or if you are willing to offer an internship that's cool too.
Bottom line people. I am a dependable, strong adolescent who is willing to do the dirty work if you are willing to tolerate me and my never ending questions about the horses. Thank you for taking the time to read this really long ad and for considering me for employment.
