Healthy, horse-friendly full board available at Rojo Pez Ranch in the Upper Squamish Valley, just a short drive from Squamish!
Our boarding facility has two spots coming available August 1st. Memberships to ride in Squamish's only covered riding arena are also available.
For the horse:
- Daily turnout on large maintained pastures (grazing galore!) with compatible herd-mates, shady wooded areas to explore, a sunny, sandy area for napping and a giant sand pile to play king-of-the-hill on - Individual mud-free paddocks, with pea-gravel footing (for healthy hooves) and in/out shelters to retire to at night
- Good quality hay and grain and individualized feeding programs. Four hay feedings a day (when not on pasture)
- Blankets/fly masks on-and-off, fly spray applied if supplied
- Twice yearly fecal tests to ensure effective deworming - Experienced, on-site caregiver who stays current on equine health and nutrition issues
- Weekly horsemanship drop-in session
- A resident “horse grandmother” to dole out apples, carrots and scratches (if allowed, of course!) For the human:
- Pick up a coffee in Brackendale and you’ll be here before you finish it (about a 14 minute drive)
- Heated tack room, individual lockers, washroom facilities and a cute cabin with microwave, drinking water and shady porch to relax on after you ride - A beautiful nearby river beach and unlimited mountain trails
- Membership to ride in Squamish’s ONLY covered arena – a 70 X 165 Cover-All with mountain views and great sand footing. It's cool in the summer, and perfect in the winter!
- A very friendly, relaxed, small (max. 6 boarders), "non-denominational" barn on 25 acres where respect for the horse and healthy, natural living conditions are the first priorities. No politics, no drama, just great natural horse care and happy owners/riders!
- Coming soon, an outdoor obstacle course - natural jumps, round pen and obstacles to challenge the partnership between horse and human - Weekly horsemanship drop-in session
