When a horse turns out not to be what I need for the Wish Upon A Horse Riders, - it will be offered with a FULL AND DETAILED description of EVERY negative trait about that horse! You will be told that this horse is for an ADVANCED rider. You will know exactly what goes with that horse!! Good and Bad!! Your safety is my main concern - When I describe a horse with negative traits - and 'YOU' tell me that you can handle him ----and 'YOU make the decision' to purchase that horse - then it will up to you to make it work. I so enjoy doing this..... I have rode and shown horses all of my life. My daughter grew up riding and showing. Due to her, over the years, I had a few experiences with buying 'supposedly' child broke horses. I don't show anymore...but I love horses and I love working with a family in finding them 'just the right horse'. I buy my horses from families and friends that I personally know - or referrals from them. Being a part of the show world and trail riding groups over the years, I have many that I trust that I buy from when one becomes available for sale. But sometimes....when I buy from others 'who seem honest' - I get a horse that is not acceptable for my families. We bring each horse to our stables for at least eight weeks and sometimes we just enjoy a horse and he may have been here 3 PLUS! months!!! This time allows me to know the personality of each one - and gives me peace that the horse or pony is exactly how I have described it to you. I only handle a few ponies and/or horses at a time due to this. Doing this has opened up a whole new world for me! I enjoy sharing with families from all states! It is amazing! This is my fun thing!! I have transported MOST of the horses I have sold with the decision being made with detailed e-mails and videos. I love for families to come and spend the day - in person - but unfortunately, most just do not have time to come in person - or the distance is just too far to travel for them, so they have no choice but to 'trust' someone to send them a safe horse. Unfortunately, 95% of my e-mails are stories of family members being hurt due to the horse not being what was described to them! It is not only physical injuries, but coping with the emotional disappointment of what was supposed to be a very special time, as well as the financial burden and loss people are having to endure. And this is even being done to children, which is totally unforgivable...... My main concern is your safety, and that you be happy with the choice you make 'after' you get your new friend home! I always ask that you come and spend the day with us...to 'spend time with the horse'...to bridle, saddle it - brushing, leading, riding, loading on the trailer, whatever you want to do that will make you know you have made the right choice. I also give you time alone with the horse so you can get to know one another. Our horses are healthy - and come with current coggins, health certificates, and usually ALL vaccinations - and our vet name and phone number. Due to different feeding practices, sometimes we get horses that are very thin! A horse can drop a 100 lbs. in a week! And it takes months to get the weight back on! So if you see photos of these horses...please know - our horses are fat and pretty...and if you see one a little less than that for sale on my ad site -'we are working on that- I promise you'!!! We reset their shoes before transporting,and I usually send photos of the re-set for your farrier to have! We float their teeth, and they are wormed EVERY 2-1/2 months! I have sold over 200 horses since November, 2006. I will never tell you a horse or pony is 'bombproof'. Horses are magnificient...in size and beauty. But along with this comes personalities - as well as the ability to feel emotions. Just like humans - they feel pain, playfulness - they have the ability to feel affection and love - and they also have the ability to feel 'fear'. Our horses are tested time and time again here - and subjected to EVERYTHING WE POSSIBLY CAN SUBJECT THEM TO!! Even if a horse does not show 'one sign of' negative behavior --I will not tell you he/she is bombproof. When you ask for this in a horse...you are 'asking and expecting perfection'. We, as humans, are not perfect. AND WE SHOULD NOT EXPECT PERFECTION with ourselves or our horses - because of both having the ability 'to feel'. I have pages of references! He owned Gypsy as well as Chip, the beautiful spotted gelding! They had a really loving home for years! They were trail ridden the entire time they were there except for the latter part of this past summer, when Bob's health issues forced him to stop trail riding. <br><br>Both of these horses are VERY sweet, affectionate ...and so easy to do all things with. They both walk right on the trailer when loading. They load and haul good even when crowded!!! They both get along well<br>with others in the pasture. Very sweet, very humble. They were running with ten other horses at Bob's farm........the video on youtube.com ---- called "running colors" is where they came from. He called to them and they all came running as hard as they could.....it was absolutely a beautiful! A<br>sight to behold!!!!<br><br>Gypsy is a beautiful girl with a really smooth ride!! She stands to mount, mounts from a mtg. block, or whatever, - she is patient in the crossties or tied wherever! Gypsy rides bareback and double! For those of you who are looking for a smooth ride with a little speed, Gypsy is your girl!!!!! She is awesome!! As a rule, we do not ride our horses in faster gaits here. We work with all of our horses all the time....with slow, gentle, easy - VERY<br>slow movements in all things we do, - because of the type of families I sell to. They have to be quiet, calm, laid back, and easy to do all things with in a slow manner. <br><br>Occasionally we will get one like Gypsy who is very talented in other ways,......like having a faster gait. She is awesome! The best part?........She is a mare that will only go faster if called on,......but she WILL upon command, with absolutely NO hesitation,.....come back down to a <br>very slow walk and continue with that slow walk without being fussy or agitated as some horses will be. You can see in the videos how pleasing she is to your commands of totally stopping or just slowing down. Gypsy is a very happy, contented mare,.....and she does what you ask her to do and is happy to do it!!! While here, Gypsy and Chip, both, have not seen anything that makes them spook. <br><br> Being ridden on the highways while trail riding, she and Chip are both VERY MUCH traffic broke! We have consistently ridden on our 4-lane highway with semi's/air-brakes!!! (the truck drivers do this on purpose as well as laying down on their horns!!!)----as well as sirens, log/gravel<br>trucks, cycles- we have it all here!! - and both Gypsy and Chip have been amazing! They will cross any kind of ditches, creeks, and are both very careful stepping when going down a steep slope or crossing a difficult area. We have barking dogs in the neighborhood - people do not keep them<br>confined! ): They come running out at times barking and snipping at their heels. <br><br>We have the tractor, manure spreader, zero turn mower (still mowing leaves).....as well as a backhoe that we have been using to clean up the property (stumps, trees, etc.). All of our horses are subjected to all these things. We do everything possible to find out if they are going to spook and and if so, most important, what is their behavior when they do spook!!! I have to know this due to the type of families I sell to, many having Special Needs.<br><br> Gypsy is a really fun horse to ride!! She loves to please!! She loves attention!! And even with being five, she is a VERY experienced trail horse that has been loaded up and taken on weekend camping trips, as well as new trail areas!! And she comes with a faster gait that is absolutely awesome!!! But again....only if you ask it of her......- and - no hesitation to slow down or stop when told to do so!!! I am selling him for a friend for what "they" need to get for him - $1800. <br><br>Cash is the type of horse that if he is not ridden for a long time, he is still easy to catch, stands to mount, and remains so very easy going, laid back and patient with all things. He walks right on the horse trailer! He is easy to shoe, clip, bridle, and bathe. And he is SO!!! very affectionate. <br><br>Cash is out of extraordinary bloodlines - Coin's Hard Cash (WGC), - Pride's Generator down to the very old pedigree. He is a very smart horse with a lot of head sense. Cash <br>has a VERY smooth gait! He does this with or without shoes. You can see that he has a slight sway in his back. Again, something caused earlier in his life with probably being ridden too soon. Forest Ridge Farm is located in Science Hill, Kentucky! We are about 60 miles south of Lexington, Ky. - 2 hours from Knoxville, Tn.- and 3 hours from Nashville, Tenn.
