Flambeau, aka “Fynn” is an exquisite 2010 black/bay GOV Oldenburg gelding. His sire is the impressive 17.0 hh stallion, Freestyle (Florestan), who had the highest German dressage index in North America and is ranked in the top 1% of all German dressage stallions. In addition to being an accomplished dressage horse, Freestyle received an “8” for his jumping ability in his stallion performance test and is known for producing excellent rideability. Fynn is out of the MMB German Oldenburg mare, Geralyn’s Pleasure (Maudlin), who received excellent marks in her mare inspection and has produced several lovely foals for our program. Geralyn’s sire, Maudlin, has produced a number of fine sporthorses. <br><br>Fynn started showing on the line in July 2010 with very good comments and a respectable 75.1% score at this first outing. He showed again through the 2011 season finishing with a 74.1% and ranked 3rd in the US for GOV Colts/Geldings of his age. He is registered with the GOV/OHBS and is lifetime recorded with USEF & USDF.<br><br>Fynn is handled daily and well socialized. He's so smart, picks up on new things easier than the majority of horses out there, and new things don't frazzle him. He is going to be very easy to start under saddle. He has a lot of personality on the ground, which makes him very enjoyable to work with. He has demonstrated great form over fences through the jump chute. She is by the 17.0 hh stallion Ironman (Inselfurst/Wienerwald/Gottard), who had great success in the jumper ring and has gone on to be a leading hunter sire. Ironman’s offspring are known for their great temperament, outstanding athletic ability, personality, intelligence, easy trainability, and superb conformation. This filly is out of the imported 16.3+ hh Dutch Warmblood mare, Piacenza (Hamlet/Pele). She is by the International Grand Prix Jumper, Hamlet. Hamlet is well-known for siring the great Hickstead, who was ridden by Canada's Eric Lamaze, and won countless Grand Prix events worldwide. Piacenza’s dam, Brigette, competed through the 1.35 m jumpers and is by Pele, an excellent producer of both dressage and jumping horses in the Netherlands. Piacenza started in the jumper ring in Holland successfully completing up to the 1.30 m jumpers, and was then imported to the United States to enter hunter/jumper training. He is very outgoing and a fast learner. He is sensitive to the aids, but not overly so and is going to make a great amateur’s mount. His moderate size makes him easier to package up than a lot of horses and he is a great size for many smaller riders who don’t want or need a giant. He is an easy, uncomplicated, and soft ride. He has lovely form through the jump chute, but has not been started over fences under saddle yet. He is hard to spook under saddle and has been out trail riding alone - we wouldn’t trust many horses of his age to do this.
