I run a private horse rescue, and all the horses listed by me were pmu foals and mares destined for slaughter if not rescued. Many are registerable QH's and all are healthy, sound, friendly - some are halter/lead trained and some are under training. None are saddlebroke but are excellent training projects and their adoption fees are low enough to allow for training costs. Only good permanent homes will be considered. Vet and farrier references are required and, where possible, an onsite visit is required.

Crockett was originally rescued as a 6month old foal. He has had some head shyness but seems to have turned the corner on that, and now loves his head to be rubbed and petted.<br>Due to lack of time and expertise, and funds to hire a trainer, Crockett has received little training, but he loves people and being around them, and should be a quick study in the hands of a knowledgeable, patient natural horse trainer.<br>I am in the rescue biz., NOT the trading biz., and require vet and farrier references along with a home visit. I also encourage any prospective adopters to spend as much time as they wish with the horse to make sure it is a good match and will give a full refund if it does not work out for any reason.<br>I do not adopt out to anyone living more than three hours away.

FAY, Liver Chestnut Arab/morgan/draft Cross For Sale in West Virginia

Fay was born on my farm when I rescued her slaughter-bound bred dam (a gorgeous Morgan/Draft Cross). Her mother has since been adopted to a local family but Fay is still waiting for her forever home.<br>She is very pretty, has good conformation and a beatuful floating trot. She is friendly, intelligent and curious. Fay is halter trained and good with the farrier, and is now ready for saddle training. She has been worked with a little by Kirsten Lee,a local and well-respected Parelli horse trainer who has posted some of my rescued horses, including Fay, on her website, along with her comments upon first working with them. Kirsten has offered to extend her rescue discount training fee to anyone adopting one of my horses who wishes her to continue training them.<br>Before adoption/purchase, a home visit, along with vet and farrier references are required.<br>The adoption fee represents just a fraction of what it cost me to rescue and care for these rescued horses, but this is nevertheless negotiable. My priority is to find Fay and my other rescues good forever homes.

Betty was rescued from the killpen at a Pa. auction. She is a very friendly trusting pony, loves attention and is very easy to work with.<br>She has great conformation and a pretty head.<br>She has yet to be saddle trained. The only reason she is not is due to lack of funds to hire a good natural horse trainer. She has been worked with twice in the round pen. When a saddle, with tightened girth, was put on her she trotted around the pen very relaxed and acting like she had been saddle dozens of times!<br>Adoptions/purchases are subject to a satisfactory home visit along with vet and farrier references.
