Medicine Man has worked at a camp for about 12 years as a trail and lesson horse. He has had literally hundreds of beginner youth (as young as 7) and adults on him with NO record of kicking, biting, bucking, bolting, rearing, etc. In the last few years he has begun grazing on trails when ridden by young kids. They are unable to pull his head up and get him going again. We have not had this problem with older/more experienced kids or adults. Since many of our riders are younger kids, we want to find him a home where he can be enjoyed by an older youth or adult for trails or just for fun.<br><br>Medicine Man is a Fox Trotter cross, but I don't know what the other half is. He is not gaited, but he does have very smooth gaits. He is a very friendly guy who is typically easy to catch, middle to top of the pecking order (but not aggressive to other horses), and is easy to vet and shoe. He wears shoes on the front. He keeps weight on well through the winter on grass hay and minimal amounts of feed. He does NOT act like an old horse - he enjoys working and has enough energy to trail ride all day, but still is not a hothead. I could see him working very well for an adult with minimal experience wanting a dependable trail horse, or for an older youth moving up from a pony.<br><br>Come try him out on our trails or in our indoor arena.
