Beginning with a love for horses at the age of six I got involved with 4-H and was a member for eight years. Since then I got involved with rodeo I’ve been a member of Manitoba High School Rodeo Association, Manitoba Barrel Racing Association, Alberta Barrel Racing Association, Heartland Rodeo Association and Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association. Even though this is the path I’ve taken colt starting and solving horse problems. I’m currently taking Equine Science- Western Horsemanship at Olds College. There I’m getting education from well known horse people in the industry; Wil Speight (cutter/colt trainer) and Wendy Johnson (reiner). I’ve taken a barrel clinic with Lona Hunter who is well known for her own futurity colts. My training techniques are natural techniques that form a trust between horse and rider. They all begin with ground training techniques to form a trust before ever saddling. I believe riding success is a team effort between horse and rider so when you come to pick up your horse I would love to give you a tutorial of all I have done so the training continues! I have a round pen to allow me to free lunge and take the first few rides safely. I have a large outdoor arena and pastures to ride in as well as access to an indoor arena also.
