Here at DWR Horses we specialie in well trained, easy to handle, trail horses. Specifically Tennessee Walking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses. Our horses are top quality in every way . We make sure our trail horses are exposed to all the things you would want your horse to be able to handle. They have been down country roads, rode through the mountains, exposed to deer, turkeys, goats and dogs, rode around cars, tractors, ATV's, motorcycles, etc. They are exposed to as many different obstacles as possible to develop the best horses around. Our trail rides start in Tennessee with emphasis on confidence they are taken through the forests and mountains, country roads, creeks, farm animals, and whatever the countryside offers...we then take them through the suburbs and deserts here in Las Vegas Our horses are exposed to as many experiences on the trail as possible to develop a calm trustworthy trail mount. The horses represented on our site are of those we would personally keep. I would love to keep them all! Our horses are well trained, trail experienced and sound. Buying a horse should not be a scary thing, but unfortunately there are too many less than honest people out there trying to get rid of their problems. You can always buy a less expensive horse but it will cost you in the long run. As our customers say 'you get what you pay for'. We at DWR strive to provide the best possible match for horse and rider. We search out only the best trail horses. Our horses are not from sales or auctions or trade ins'. Our horses are carefully selected and purchased from individual owners that we know. After I broke my back 12 years ago on a green broke horse, I will not get on any horse unless it truly is well trained, experienced and broke. Our horses have to be good enough to be our own personal horse. It simply is not worth our, health, name and reputation to have anything but well trained horses that we would put our family members on. Whisky has a very smooth to ride 4 beat running walk. He is set in his gait and performs his gaits with ease. Whisky also has great ground manners and is easy to handle. Whisky will stand to mount, gaits beautifully, listen to leg and verbal cues and he will go out alone without ever looking back. He is brave and intelligent with many great attributes. Whisky has been exposed to deer, turkeys, ATV's, bicycles, cars, trucks, semi's, dogs, tarps, plastic bags, high winds... He is not spooky acting. He is a big stout Walking Horse with a build like a Quarter Horse. Whisky can carry large riders with ease down steep hills, through creeks and up mountainsides. Point him and he will take you where you want to go. He has lovely personality and will do anything you ask on the ground (bathe, clip, lift his feet easily, halter easily, lead quietly, load and unload, trailer quietly, stand great in the cross ties...). Beautiful black and white show stopping gelding. Spirit is a beauty that has it all! Looks, personality, gait, style and the right attitude. He is a lovely horse in every way. Spirit has a shiny smooth black and white coat, great build, a pretty head and kind eyes. He is a lifetime horse with everything going for him. Spirit is a sweetheart to be around and great to ride. He is very well trained, easy to ride, smooth as glass in the saddle and a gentleman in every way. Spirit is very easy to handle and calm on the ground. He will let you do just about anything to him and will stand there quieter than a mouse. He is great to groom, bathe, clip, worm, lead, tack up, catch, load/unlaod, trailer... There isn't anything we've found that he will not do. Spirit is a wonderful horse to ride. He has an incredibly willing attitude and will do whatever you ask with the slightest request. All you have to do is ask and he will gladly turn, stop, gait, back up even with just a halter and lead rope with no bit (*see videos*) Spirit stands perfect to mount with or without a stepping block, stand still to dismount, listens patiently to his riders cues, stops with a "whoa", moves out with a squeeze of your legs, backs up, goes out alone is great with a group and gaits nicely too. Spirit has a smooth 4 beat flat walk and running walk that he can perform slow or fast and he will canter for you if asked to. Spirit gets along great with other horses, goes out well in a group and is not spooky acting at all. He is solid, reliable and also very nice to be around. He has been exposed to traffic (*see videos*), dogs, plastic bags, wildlife, farm equipment, guns being shot off, just about every trail obstacle, bicycles (*see videos*), construction vehicles...
