I just got this flashy paint mare. I would rate her as a "second" pony for the older kid who knows how to ride or for a child who has a knowledgable parent who can finish this pony out. She is very sweet but she needs a little more fine tuning before I would recommend her as a "first" pony for kids. For instance: I believe I gave her her first bath and at first she was a little gittery. But by the time I got to her belly, she had calmed down. Her second bath was much improved. I think she learns quickly and finishing her out will not take very long. She is fine to be ridden at a walk & trot, with or without a saddle and bridle. Good at loading up into the trailer. She needs work on clipping, bathing, and picking up her feet. However, she was good for my shoer. She has no blemishes on her. She would make a great show pony for 4-H or other shows!

This is an older mare that has been used for trails and playing around on. She does not mind cattle or dogs or chickens or tractors. Seems to be pretty laid back but a little rusty on somethings, like picking up her feet. She is not bad (she's not trying to hurt anyone) just a little lazy. She can be ridden bareback or with saddle and bridle. Small kids ride her (11 yr old boy) and she really likes people attention. She has great hooves, she came to me barefooted and her hooves were in great shape. Easy to trailer & bath. The clippers were just fine with her until I started on her bridle path and then all she did was step back a little & give me the look to say "What? Were you going to use that on ME?!" I think she is just a little rusty, but a good minded girl.

If you are sitting on his back and scratch his neck, he will start inching backwards to get closer to the lovely person scratchin' him. He really is very funny! He is the first one at the gate and is very tolerant of little people climbing all over him. However, he came to us starved and neglected. He has put on weight and we have been riding him at playdays and 4-H meetings. She is easy to catch since she is usually hanging around looking for smootches, hugs, and scratches. She loves children (she will follow my 7 yr old daughter around the paddock, with her head down, waiting for kisses). But she is not for young kids, yet. She would be fine for a child (12 & up) who knows how to ride. When you put the saddle on she is ready to go, she loves little kids but is simply is too fast for small kids. Her last foal was a beautiful black and white colt. She passes along her clean lines, big body, and wonderful temperment. On the trails this mare is fun and a huge mover.
