Lilly, Chestnut Quarter Horse For Sale in Pennsylvania
$ 800
She is a perfect little kid’s pony. She will w/t/c and jump small cross rails. She would make a great lead line or hunter w/t pony for a little kid. She was used for lessons in the past at an A rated barn and has show experience. We are currently using her in our lesson program but would like to find her a home with an owner of her own. She is a great little trail horse and is not spooky. She’s stocky and has a long body so she would make a nice pony for a child or very small adult. She is very sweet and friendly, loves attention, and gets along great with other horses. Her teeth were done in the last month, she is up to date on her shots, and has a current coggins. Lilly is very healthy and sound with slight arthritis. Lilly does great on pasture board with a run in shed as being in a stall all the time makes her stiff. As long as she is out and able to move around she doesn’t show signs of stiffness. She is good for the vet and farrier, bathes, clips, loads, and is just an all around good pony.

Kris's Touch, Dark Bay Thoroughbred For Sale in Pennsylvania
$ 1,000 (Negotiable)
Kris’s Touch (Kris): Kris is a 1998, PA Breed, Jockey Club Reg (9834635), Thoroughbred Stallion. He stands 16.3 hands tall and weighs approximately 1350lbs. Kris is a dark bay with a small star, white on his coronet on the front and hind leg, and a strip of white on his heel. Kris has a beautiful thick long flowing mane and tail. Kris has been used primarily for breeding, but is trained under saddle, although he has not been ridden in almost 3 years due his owner having a shoulder injury. He has been breed to Drafts, Morgans, as well as TB's and has produced very nice offspring. Produces well bodied Draft X's due to his size. Kris is a stallion and therefore needs a firm handler who can be assertive. He stalls up well with mares and is currently housed 1 stall away from an Arabian mare. Kris is very manageable around mares, but a firm hand is needed. Kris’s current owner has owned him since 2005 and he is up to date on shots and has a negative current coggins. He behaves well for the vet and farrier and is easy to administer shots to. Kris clips, trims, and bathes. He does not cross tie well but he will single tie and needs some work on loading. Kris is an easy keeper and currently on a diet that consists of 10% sweet feed and timothy mix hay. Asking $2000 but would accept a reasonable offer. Good home only. Kris is not located at my farm but is less than a mile away from my farm.

Al (Bet Cha' Bottom Dollar), Black Welsh Cross For Sale in Pennsylvania
$ 2,000
Al (Bet Cha’ Bottom Dollar) is a 9 year old 13.2 Hand Black Welsh/TB cross pony gelding. Al is a super show pony. Will place in the top. Al is super cute and is a 12 mover. He can jump 2ft easily and has a beautiful extended trot. Al is barefoot and has clean legs. Previous owner may be able to get the records of his last prepurchase exam. Al has flying lead changes and goes quietly in a happy mouth. A 6 year old has been showing Al in walk trot classes and doing well. He is a forward moving pony and requires either a confident beginner or an advanced beginner. Al can sit in the pasture for two months and you can jump on him and he’s the same pony each time. He never runs out of energy and will keep going for you all day. Al is a great trail horse. Al has been rode at the Hampton Classic. He has a soft mouth and will go right into a frame. Al is up to date on all shots and coggins. No bite, kick, rear, buck, or bolt. Just a nice easy going pony. Would make a nice dressage prospect. His owner is currently 5 ‘6” and has sadly outgrown him. Looking for a new owner to take him out and show him. Loads, bathes, clips, etc. Asking $2000 OBO. Price reduced from $3000 for quick sale.

Update: Looking for a pony for A rated shows! This is your guy!!! This pony is absolutely a 12 mover. Beautiful extended trot. I can see that Al would be good for a beginner in w/t classes, but his canter can get a little fast. My timid advanced beginner rider was very happy and comfortable riding him today and jumping him. He offered no bad habits and was a sweetheart to tack up and ride. Not a mean bone in his body.

Stoney Run Stable in USA/Canada
in Farm Directory
Brian and Christy Watts purchased their farm in May 2008. Since then it has been steadily growing to include lessons, summer camp, weekend horse programs, clinics, seminars, boarding, tack sales, horse sales, horse leases, horse consignment, birthday parties, pony rides, breeding, trail rides, vacation care, and hauling services. We strive to provide the best services possible to all of our horse friends. Christy has been around horses her entire life. She grew up with her horse, Lady, who she would trail ride for as many hours a day as she possibly could. Christy has a passion for horses, and strives to learn everything she can about them. She always has her nose in a horse book trying to learn as much as she can to care for her equine friends. She attends clinics and takes an active role in participating with her daughter in as many 4-H and pony club events as she can. Christy passed her clearances and is a certified 4-H Volunteer. She is also the corresponding secretary for the Wellsville Frontier Days Club. She is an avid trail rider who loves to ride and feel the wind in her hair. Brian was new to the horse world when he met Christy; however, with the help of his wife and some riding lessons, he has certainly come a long way over the past several years learning all of the ins and outs of horses. Brian also loves to trail ride and help his wife find safe sound horses for resale. Brian is a member of the board for the Wellsville Frontier Days Club. Kendra has been taking lessons for three years now. She is a member of the Chestnut Hill Pony Club and the Wellsville Boots and Saddle 4-H Club. She participates in the 4-H drill team and enjoys going to fun shows. She shows both English and Western. Kendra is currently learning to jump with her pony Reeces. Kendra enjoys helping around the farm and riding all of the ponies and horses that we bring in for resale. Kendra has passed her D-1 rating in pony club and her level one horsemanship skills in 4-H. Bryson has not yet gotten into horses but he enjoys watching his sister Kendra riding her horse. The Watts Family also belongs to the Conewago Trail Riders Club and the Twin Brooks Riding Club. The Watts family currently own 8 horses of their own. Red is Christy's horse. He is the family's favorite horse and everyone fights over riding him. Dakota is Brian's horse. He's a Warmblood/QH cross and an awesome trail horse. Reeces is Kendra's pony. They do pony club and 4-H together. Reeces loves to jump and just foaled a baby in March 2008. She's also a very quiet trail horse. Sophie is the Watts family's broodmare. Read more about her on the breeding web page. Mocha is the Watts family's yearling. He will be shown in 4-H horse production this fall by Hilary Morrow. The Watts family also owns Sunday, who is leased to Madison Ice, and Ginger, who is leased to Hilary Morrow. The Watts family also owns a two year old filly, Zippos Silver Lilly, that is currently in professional training for the winter and for sale. In addition to the Watts family horses, they own 3 dogs. Alfie is a 2 year old black lab/beagle mix, Midnight is a 2 year old black lab mix, and Mattie is an Australian Shepherd/collie mix puppy.

Summer Camp in USA/Canada
in Local Services --> Other
Summer Horse Camps are being offered beginning in 2009. Their purpose is two-fold: 1) to teach children the responsibilities of horse ownership and 2) to give more advanced students the opportunity to teach and supervise others. We have come to appreciate the value of connecting children with nature, of instilling good work habits, and of effectively communicating with others. These needs have not changed. They have only intensified. The purpose of Horse Camp is to teach children about the responsibilities of horse care. Many children aspire to own horses without an understanding of their potential commitment. Horses thus are often discarded when the owner tires of the responsibility, especially when one lacks the skills to effectively ride the horse. Stoney Run Stable strives to teach compassion, communication and commitment -- for the animal, for one’s fellow humans and for the natural environment. Check back for more information and dates in the upcoming months! We will not be able to hold all of the camps listed below this year so please email us and let us know what types of camp you would be interested in so we can plan accordingly. Also, please feel free to send us any suggestions you may have for camp. TYPES OF CAMP Adventure Camp -- Adventure Camp is for beginner riders who are interested in learning more about how to care for their equine friend and beginner riding lessons. Each camper will be assigned a horse to care for while at camp. Campers will learn basic horse safety; grooming; tacking up; barn safety; all about feeding your equine; breeds, colors, markings, body parts, and proper conformation; health care and basic first aid; and all about tack (types, fit, and parts). Two and three day camps are available. This camp is appropriate for campers ages 8 to 12. One riding lesson will be given per day. Saddle Up Camp -- Saddle Up Camp is for advanced beginner riders who already have basic riding skills but are interested in learning more about caring for their equine friend and advanced beginner riding lessons. Each camper will be assigned a horse to care for while at camp. Campers will learn basic horse safety; health care and first aid; all about tack (types, fit, and parts); trailer safety; horse parts; show grooming; lunging; and barn and fire safety. Two day camps are available. This camp is appropriate for campers ages 9 to 14. One riding lesson will be given per day. Show Camp -- Show Camp is for advanced beginner and intermediate riders who want to learn more about showing. Each camper will be assigned a horse to care for while at camp. Campers will learn show grooming; show tips; show dress; preparing your horse for the show; judging; and types of shows. Two day camps are available. This camp is appropriate for campers ages 8 to 18. One riding lesson will be given on Saturday and on Sunday we will perform two mini shows. Buckle Up Camp -- Buckle Up Camp is for intermediate riders who want to learn more advanced techniques to work with horses and intermediate riding lessons. Each camper will be assigned a horse to care for while at camp. Campers will learn about show grooming; working with young green horses; trailer safety; and despooking. Two day camps are available. This camp is appropriate for campers ages 10 to 18. Two riding lessons will be given on Saturday and one on Sunday. Instructor Camp -- Instructor Camp is for higher level intermediate riders or advanced riders who are interested in learning how to be a riding lesson instructor. This camp will focus on teaching riding lessons and will not include any riding lessons for the campers. Campers will spend the weekend giving riding lessons to beginner and intermediate students while working with a senior level instructor. Two day camps are available. This camp is appropriate for campers ages 14 to 18. Train Up Camp -- Train Up Camp is for advanced riders who are interested in learning techniques on how to train a horse. An experienced trainer will work with campers to teach them the basics needed to work with unbroken and green horses on the ground and in the saddle. For safety purposes, riders will not mount any unbroken horses. Two day camps are available. This camp is appropriate for campers ages 14 to 18. Leadership -- We will be looking for several students interested in helping with summer camp. These volunteer positions give you the opportunity to learn leadership skills and to help teach younger students about horses. Volunteers will be asked to help plan riding lessons and unmounted lessons; plan games, songs, dances, etc; help with camp set up; teach lessons and unmounted lessons; help prepare meals; and clean up after camp is over. This is a wonderful opportunity to advance your riding skills, teaching skills, and knowledge of horses in addition to being able to put this experience on your resume. Volunteers do not pay anything to attend camp and will be fed while at camp. www.stoneyrunstable.com

Pony Rides in USA/Canada
in Local Services --> Other
Stoney Run Stable Pony parties are a great addition to birthday parties, school parties, open houses, business and corporate events, carnivals, fund raisers, fall festivals, theme parties, and company parties. In comparison with other types of entertainment, pony parties are a good value and a unique way to entertain your guests. Our sweet-natured and well-groomed ponies will bring smiles to the faces of the children at your party. Pony rides at your event will provide the children with memories of happiness and enjoyment, laughter and fun. Pony Rides are probably the most down-to-earth fun you can have at an event! Nothing offers beauty, fun and excitement like animals do. For the kids, the excitement is in being around live animals, getting to touch, pet, feed them and ride them. Adults experience the same excitement as the kids, plus for many, seeing their children ride a pony is a very nostalgic experience, reminding them of their own childhood! We have medium and large ponies that can accommodate riders who weigh up to 85-100 pounds. Appropriate ages are 1-13 years. Young children may need an adult or parent to walk alongside them. Each pony can give about 30 rides per hour. Each ride is 1-2 minutes in length, depending on the number of children at the event. In planning your event, the best idea is to have the pony rides begin 30 minutes to 1 hour after the start of the event to insure that everyone has arrived to take advantage of the pony rides. We are flexible and can adapt to any situation. Pony rides can be done in a backyard, long driveway, sidewalk, cul de sac, dead-end street, field, park, schoolyard, etc. We can suggest the best place for the most enjoyable pony rides for the children. We are sure you will appreciate our friendly, prompt, reliable and dependable service. Our safe and gentle ponies are led by competent, attentive and concerned leaders. Release Forms must be signed by parents of all children participating in the pony rides. NO EXCEPTIONS. The Mini-Birthday Bash: One pony for one hour, perfect for small backyard birthday parties. $200* The Birthday Bash: Two ponies for one hour, perfect for the average birthday party $250* The Mega Birthday Bash: Two ponies for two hours $375* Additional hours over two hours are charged at the rate of $125 per hour. Additional ponies over two are charged at the rate of $50 per pony. *Prices are based on the location of the party being within 25 miles of Stoney Run Stables. Additional miles will be charged at a rate of $0.75 per mile. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is due at the time you book the pony party. We come out rain or shine - it's hard to tell a child they're party is off just because of rain! In light rain we bring umbrellas and still do rides as long as you provide a dry place for the kids to wait. Do you just want to bring your child out for a pony ride? We will give pony rides to children for $25 for 30 minutes. Give us a call to schedule a time. www.stoneyrunstable.com
