Horsetopia collects personally identifiable information for several services on our website.
Because we value your privacy, we will use this information only as described in this policy. We never send
spam or sell lists of email addresses to spammers -- for complete policies about how we use your personal

Personal info in Classified Ads
When you place a classified ad on Horsetopia, we ask for your name, email address, location, and phone number.
Your contact name, location, and phone number are available to the public on your classified ad.
Your email address is hidden by our software so that spammers cannot steal it. Interested buyers who inquire
about your ad can do so through a special online form, or by telephone. Note that if you respond to an inquiry
received from our site, then you will make your email address known to the third party.
There are various other pieces of information that are included in your classified ad, such as a description of your horse or product, information about your farm or store, and other info. Most of this information is made available in your ad,
so it is up to you what private information you want to include.
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your computer. We do not use any cookies that store personal information.
We do use cookies for several other purposes: to keep you logged in when you edit your ads,
to track abuse of our classified ads and forums, and to remember your "recent searches" on our search page.
Cookies are also used
by third-party advertisers such as Google AdWords that display ads on our website. You can delete your Horsetopia.com
and horse-for-sale.org cookies by consulting the documentation for your web browser.
Server Logs
Our web server, like most web servers, writes log files that keep track of all the activity that occurs on our website. Server logs include your computer's IP address. We do use our server logs to understand aggregate features of our website traffic such as demographic information or total number of hits. IP addresses can also be linked to other personal information, such as which classified ads were posted under what IP address. We use this information ONLY to track, investigate, and eliminate abuse on our website, such as fraudulent credit card activity, fraudulent classified ads, and fraudulent inquiries. We do not tolerate abuse of this website and will happily turn our server logs over to US authorities investigating criminal activity.
Other websites
This privacy policy applies only to web pages on the Horsetopia.com and Horse-for-sale.org domains.
We are not responsible for the content or policies of websites that we link to off of these domains.
Encryption
The Horsetopia credit card order page is protected by 128-bit encryption provided by GeoTrust. This prevents
your credit card number from being intercepted while it is transmitted to our server. On most web browsers, you can
confirm the security by clicking the lock icon near the bottom off your screen. Our secure certificate is issued
for the domain "horse-for-sale.org" or "horsetopia.com".
Order Info
When you submit a payment on Horsetopia, we process the order immediately and then delete the credit card number from our system. We do store your other billing info, such as contact name, in order to contact you in case there is a problem with the order. However, your credit card number is never stored. If you choose to pay by PayPal, then you will need to click a link to go to the PayPal.com website and provide them with your information. We are not responsible for how PayPal uses your information-- please see their privacy policy to find out how they will use it.
Retaining Information
Horsetopia may decide, at its discretion, whether or not to retain information from past activity on our website,
such as expired or deleted ads, old inquiries, and server logs. Horsetopia is not under any obligation to
save old classified ads, but we may do so in order to track aggregate statistics about the types of ads that
are placed, track abuse, and other internal purposes. However, we will not give out any personal information from expired or deleted ads to any third party, except: (i) to comply with any law, regulation, legal process, or government request, (ii) to investigate or address fraud, security issues, or violations of the terms of service (iii) to protect Horsetopia, its users and the public from harm. To protect our customers' privacy, we do not make any exceptions to this rule.
Third Parties
Horsetopia may partner with trusted 3rd parties to provide services from time to time. If we do so, and you choose
to receive the service, then we will provide
the third party with your name or contact information for the sole purpose of providing that service.
Third parties will not be allowed to use your personal information for any other purpose.
Your Email Address
You will never receive spam as a result of providing your email address on Horsetopia.com or Horse-for-sale.org.
We use email addresses only to send inquiries about our classified ads, to send copies of those inquiries to the interested buyer who inquires, to send renewal notices for expiring ads, to send receipts for completed orders, and to communicate personally with customers about customer service and account issues. We may also send important messages about your account from time to time, but only when those messages are about updates affecting your account -- never for solicitation.
We do not currently have a mailing list or a newsletter. We may decide to create one in the future, but if we do,
it will be opt-in only. You will not be added to it unless you request for your email address to be added.
Other Concerns
Our concern for your privacy is indicated by the specifics above. This policy is voided when necessary
to comply with law enforcement or applicable law in the United States.
