"Cricket" is a registered Paint mare,
foaled in 2001. She is a nice bodied
girl, with a nice chest and strong
hindquarters. She is a strikingly
beautiful chestnut and white Paint with
a beautiful baby doll head. She has big,
soft eyes and I'm sure she would make a
lovely broodmare. Cricket had
professional reining training as a young
mare, and since then she's been hanging
out, being used as a pleasure horse. She
is excellent on trails, is not spooky or
silly, and can gallop through a field
and then settle right back down into a
relaxed walk. She has energy and is not
a deadhead, but she is very easy going
and doesn't want to run unless she's
asked. She has been trailered to the
woods many times, stands nicely at the
trailer to be tacked up, will cross big
scary bridges, and is getting very brave
at crossing the creek. She has 3 solid
gaits, and a great stop button. This is
just an all around nice mare that could
be a great family horse, excellent
broodmare, or polish up her reining
training and head back to the show
ring!
Cricket clips, bathes, ties
(both cross ties and straight tied),
good for the vet and farrier, loads in
the trailer, and is very easy to deal
with on a day to day basis. She gets
along with other horses and is not a
dominant mare. Can be turned out with
mares, geldings, and babies. Excellent
babysitter! I'm sure she will be a
terrific mom.
Cricket is very sweet
and friendly, and adores people and
attention. She has had the same owner
for several years, but her owner is now
faced with some difficult health issues,
so the decision has been made to cut
down on the number of horses. All the
young, marketable horses are being sold
to ease the owner's workload. Cricket is
up to date on all her vet work, and has
solid, strong feet and has not needed
shoes.
