Alley is not registered, therefore we do
not know her specific age. From what I
have been told by her previous owners
she would be about 20. She barrel races,
is great on the poles, and ropes, I have
not roped off her though. Alley NEEDS a
good home! Someone who will give her a
lot of attention and feed her well. She
has all of the signs that she used to be
abused. When I first got her in 2005 she
would barely let you touch her head. She
has come a long ways since then though.
We sold her about a year ago and in June
she returned to our farm starved.
Because of her past, she does have some
bad habits.
She is not the
fastest horse out there but hunts for
the barrels like crazy! She is a lot of
fun to run. She runs low and hard to the
ground and wraps the barrel as soon as
you will let her. You have to push her
past the barrel a lot. I run in her in
the NBHA circuit and she always seems to
find her way into the money. She usually
runs in the 2 or 3D.
On poles she
weaves quick and is very speedy. It's
hard to stay up with her and often times
she will be ahead of you.
She has
potential to be a kids horse but still
has a lot of energy. She stays calm on
the trails until another horse gets to
far ahead or until you are on your way
home. She will prance a little and once
in a while give a little
pop-up.
She is very nervous when
you try to trim her so I usually use
scissors, but if you want to fight with
her a little she will eventually let
you. She is terrible to worm but like
the trimming she will let you do it once
you put up a fight, but she will eat the
pellet kind or if you mix the wormier in
her grain. She is great with getting her
feet done and putting on a
bridal.
Since she has come back
to us it is somewhat hard to keep weight
on her. She has been on pasture since
she has been back and is looking good.
She is grained once a day and is hayed
twice a day.
We do not have a set
price, just best offer, and would like
her to be gone by this winter. My family
wishes that we could keep her but I'm in
college, we board, and have two other
horses and she is the one that is
easiest to let go of. She is a loving
horse that is easy to get along with.
