Ebony is a registered 14 year old black
paint breeding stock mare. She is a big
and beautiful mare which I have been
using as a drill horse in the Canadian
Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team for the past
year and a half. She went to numerous
events in Ontario and the U.S. and out
to the East Coast last year.
She is
easy to wash, clip and is used to
standing tied to a trailer or fence for
long periods of time at events. I
currently have front shoes on her but
over the winter she was barefoot with no
issues. She has never come up lame on
me. Guaranteed sound.
Ebony is
also an excellent trail horse - she will
go through water and up and down steep
hills with no problem at all. She is
strong and dependable on the trails -
she has excellent footing. Don't worry
about horses riding up on her on the
trail - she does not kick out. You can
also ride her down the side of the road
with traffic. I ride her quite a bit in
the pasture with just a halter and
leadrope. She rides in either a bit or
a noval headstall. I also brought her
team sorting a few times over the
winter.
I have recently stopped
using Ebony in the drill team as I have
a gelding that I have just started with
the team. Currently she is being used
for trail riding. I am offering her for
sale as I do not have enough time for
her.
Ebony was used as a broodmare
before I purchased her. I have not had
her bred however I was told by the
previous owner that she has had a lot of
nice foals and that her foals are
typically the colour of the sire.
