Sonny is a very well trained little
gelding with a friendly and willing
personality.
He is also extremely
athletic and cowy so he would make a
great team penning or roping horse. He
really pins his ears back at a cow and
we have started dragging a log with him
and swinging a rope all over him
He
neck reins and can be ridden on a loose
rein in all gaits at pretty much any
place.
He is very light and
responsive to cues.
Sonny has been
used to drive and sort cattle and also
has lots of trail riding experience
(mostly by himself).
As you can see
on the video, there is not much that
will spook him. He might look at
something funny but if you take your
time with him he really tries hard to
learn about it and tolerate it. He is
very smart and always wants to please
his rider.
He is gentle enough to
tolerate a beginner but he has so much
“go” and athletic ability that he would
be happiest at a place where he can
really work and/or compete.
He is not
a runaway by any means. At this point I
can even ride him outside bareback with
just a halter. He is VERY well behaved.
He just has a lot of energy and he likes
to work.
Sonny would be perfect
as an all around family trail
riding/competition horse with lots of
riding hours for him.
He is for
sale because we train horses, not
because there is anything wrong with
him. This is a very nice
gelding.
