Performance Prospect Areas: Barrels,
Poles, Reining, Western Pleasure
Reason for Selling: Chantz is a good
stud colt, but I simply do not have the
time to work with him! I hate to see him
go, but I’d rather see him go to someone
that has the time to work with him so he
can live up to his full positional!
Personality: Chantz is a very loving and
people oriented horse! He will fallow
you anywhere you want to go and seems to
understand the concept of a halter
class. He will set up and stand for you!
Disposition: Chantz is very laid back,
but he unfortunately got his mother’s
stubborn streak. However, I think this
problem can be fixed with some tough
love! When he was about a year old I sat
on his back in the pasture and it didn’t
seem to phase him. He is very eager to
learn and likes to please his handlers.
However, keep in mind that he is a young
horse and is very green! He has been
loaded in a trailer twice, and needs to
be worked with on that. He has never
been bathed, but will stand for fly
spray. His least favorite thing is to be
away from people, which won’t be hard to
break since he’s still young!
Health:
Chantz has been a very healthy horse,
and has current shoots and coggins. The
only thing he has ever been to the vet
about besides his yearly visit, was when
he cut his head open in the pasture. I
was very surprised that he healed so
quickly and that he does not have a
scare from the injury. When he was
injured, he was a very good patient and
I think the injury simply improved his
disposition. Since the injury was on his
forehead when the for top is, he is not
head shy and is good about people
touching his ears, eyes, and head. He
has not been gelded, but he is not two
yet, so there is plenty of time for that
to be done!
Price Tag: I would like to
get $750 our of him, but am willing to
negotiate. I feel that Chantz’s bright
flashy color is reason enough to pay the
money I’m asking for him. However, I
understand that in order for him to live
up to his full potential his new family
will need to put money into him. I would
like to see Chantz have the possibility
to live up to what I know he is capable
of, which is why I’m willing to
negotiate on a dollar figure that will
work for the person/people that is the
right fit for him!
