This has been my daughter’s horse for
the last several years and she is moving
on to a more advanced level of horse now
so he won’t be ridden much anymore.
He’s too good a horse to stand in the
pasture and not be ridden, although he
has been ridden quite a bit this year so
far. Slick has been great to her in so
many ways. He is gentle and tolerant –
allowing her to do just about anything
on him. She has ridden him bareback
with halter and lead and taken him on
trail rides. I believe she has even
taken naps while laying on his back! He
knows all the basics but does not have
“advanced” training. He is good for
kids and adult beginners first because
he really loves to be ridden. He will
not run off and you have to be firm in
asking him to canter off. He’ll trot
all day if you ask him – which is super
smooth, but of course he prefers
walking. He’s a wonderful horse.
