We acquired Velvet as she was about to
travel through Texas to Mexico for
slaughter. We liked the look of her and
didn't want to see her meet that fate.
Happily, Velvet is healthy and sound,
and has all of her registration papers.
She is a lovely mare to work around - a
little timid, as she has clearly gone
through some tough times - but fine to
handle, groom, lead, etc.
Velvet has
definitely never been broken, so she
cannot and should not be purchased with
riding as the intention. She has bred a
number of registered foals, and would
still be able to continue to breed. She
will also be suitable as a companion
horse .
We simply want to get the
money back that we spent to get her off
the truck ($500). We just want her to
get a good home that she can enjoy for
the rest of her life.
