Chance is a five year old quarter horse
that was sold to us by a trainer that
did not tell us the whole truth about
his training, so I am going too. He is a
beautiful gelding with a long mane and
tail. He is very intelligent and loves
to explore everything. He knows how to
open gates, latches, untie himself and
figure out almost anything that you
challenge him with. This boy needs
someone who is experienced, who wants to
take the time to work with him and
someone with a mild temper. He will not
work well if he is forced into anything
but rather shown that he is
loved!
When I bought him he was
rideable both english and western but
only green broken and not very familiar
with a bit. I could easily get on him
and just ride bareback with a halter
without any problems. He has beautiful
gates and would make an amazing pleasure
or speed horse. He definitely has speed
and quick movements about him.
But since I have been unable to ride for
about three years due to my bone
disease, he has only been worked with on
the ground. He has been through level 1
of Parelli program and accomplished it
fast. But again he is going to need a
lot of work to get him back to this
stage again.
He stands for the
farrier, clippings, grooming, saddling
and loads in the trailer. He loves
attention. He gets along well with other
horses and is not dominant. He is a very
easy keeper! He has a gentle spirit but
also has spunk when playing. He is a
loving, good boy.
He is used to
tractors, cars, fireworks, gun shots,
dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, cows, sheep
and pigs.
I hate to see this boy
go because he has such great potential
but since I am unable to ride for at
least another six months and I am going
away to college, I want him to find a
good, loving and caring home. He
deserves all of this and more!
