"Ace" is an 8 year old black solid APHA
gelding. Not a white hair on him except
for his Rockin R Bar brand on his hip.
About 16.1 and 1300lbs. He is a BIG guy.
He came from Gustafson Ranch in North
Dakota. He was broke out as a 2-3 year
old and was broke out right. He was
started roping on the heel side at 3. He
was sold at 3 and for 2 years was barrel
raced. He is patterned to death on the
barrels but doesn’t have much for speed.
He might not ever be more than a 3D
horse however I haven’t asked him for
speed either because I already have my
main barrel horse and my kids and fiancé
have been riding this guy so I have just
let him stay slow.
My mom bought him
as a 5 year old because he was soooo
level headed (she was thinking future
grandkids horse). She and I rode him
around and played around with him for 2
years then I brought him to live with me
in June for my kids (They are 5 and 6
years old) and my fiancé. He is super
personable, and quiet. Great about his
feet, clipping, bathing, trailering,
loading, worming etc…. Big boned and he
has nice big black strong hooves. I do
not shoe him. I keep my horses barefoot
with the natural trim and this guy has
beautiful feet. He has been shod before.
He wore shoes from the time he was 2
until he was 5.
He doesn’t get
scared or spook. He is the horse I jump
on just for a quick couple minute ride
around his lot with nothing but a halter
on (I have even taken him for a spin a
few times with nothing but a piece of
twine around his neck and he takes it
all in stride). He is always the first
to greet me at the gate. He is very easy
to catch. He is always curious and
wanting to know what I’m doing. If I’m
cleaning up the barn he is sniffing my
hair and checking out what I’m doing or
just hanging out with me until I’m done.
He loves people and loves attention. He
just needs a job. He is too nice of a
horse to just be a “once every other
month lead around the pen” horse. He has
so much potential. I’m not selling him
as a rope horse, but he has been started
in it and excelled at it when he
started. I think he would excel in that
field again. He would make a nice barrel
horse for an experienced youth or an
adult that isn’t looking for a FAST
barrel horse. He isn’t lightning fast
but he is safe and consistant! He would
make a nice ranch horse. He is built to
go all day long. He is a very easy
keeper (and currently a fatty due to not
being ridden much in the last year!) and
is 100% sound. Vet check welcome at
buyers expense. He is UTD on
vaccinations. I do not give west nile.
He has had the vaccination before but it
is my personal preference not to
vaccinate for it. He was last trimmed
Feb. 25th. His teeth were floated in
August. Please email me for photo's and
additional information.
My
priorities have changed and I need to
sell this horse to pay for my upcoming
wedding. Please shoot me an offer!!
