We have a beautiful registered solid bay
breeding stock paint mare for sale. She
stands around 15 hands. She is out of a
beautiful black and white Superior
Western Pleasure paint stud who is
standing in Houston, Ohio. She is
EXTREMELY trustworthy. She is NOT
gaited. She is 13 years old - with
papers.
When we go trail riding,
if there are ever inexperience riders,
this horse is always the first choice to
put them on, as she is extremely safe.
She doesn't spook at deer, she will go
through water/mud without hesitation and
is great at climbing hills. She does not
care if she's in front or behind and
does not kick or bite at other horses
(even if the run up on her and bump into
her). When she is on the trails, you can
tell that she is really enjoying
herself. She is a lot of fun to ride
because she is not a deadhead and has
speed if you ask for it, but will poke
along with the rest of the crowd if you
don't.
We took her to Carriage
Hill riding this past weekend. It was
the first time that she had been ridden
since last September. My 9 & 13 year old
rode her double through the trails
without a problem. She scared up two
nesting deer and didn't flinch. I felt
completely confident that they were safe
on this horse.
She has been
shown in 4-H for the past 3 years, she
showed in trail class, barrels, poles
and all of the other various speed
events and fun classes. My son only
showed her at the fair, as he favored
trail riding over showing. This horse is
the type that you can leave in the field
all year, take out and put an
inexperienced rider on without fear. She
honestly does not know how to buck and
has never reared.
She has good
feet, straight legs, does not crib and
stands well for the farrier and to be
clipped and bathed. She's extremely
friendly and shows no moodiness at all
when she comes in heat (you can't even
tell).
We REALLY struggle with
our decision to sell her, as she is a
family favorite and would be extremely
difficult for us to replace, but my son
has decided not to do 4-H this year and
she hasn't been used much since the fair
last August and my husband's tired of
making hay for a horse that isn't
getting used much.
This is the
only picture that I was able to find,
but I will be posting more recent ones
once the weather gets nicer. This was
from the first fair that my son took her
to. She is the solid dark bay on the
right.
If you're looking for a
REALLY good trail horse that you won't
get hurt on and will do anything that
you ask of her, here's your horse.
We paid a lot more for her 4
years ago, but we all know that the
horse market has gone down
significantly. I always felt comfortable
with my kids on this horse and looked at
the price we had in her as an insurance
policy, knowing that my kids would not
get hurt on her.
We would
consider a trade for a VERY good
kid-broke trail mule (non-gaited).
Price: $ 1,200 (Negotiable)
