We bought Rowdy earlier in the year for
my husband, however we don't know enough
about gaited horses to get him to stay
in his gaits. I know he gaits because he
only gaits out in the pasture even when
all my other horses are running and he
gaits when riding but sometimes he falls
out of it. He is a very tall horse; I
said 16hh but when I ride him next to
our Clydesdale mare he's not much
shorter than she is or she doesn't look
like she towers over him in size. He
will go through or over anything in the
woods, will go all day, ties well, not
sure about the farrier because he was
just trimmed when we bought him and his
feet are still in excellent condition. I
mess with his feet and he doesn't care
about that. We have trail ridden him as
well as road ridden; he can be a little
shy when cars are coming right at him,
nothing big he just walks sideways into
the grass if we're on the road but other
than that dogs don't bother him, cars
coming up behind him don't bother him,
nothing else bother him. He is a
beautiful grulla color and just an all
around wonderful horse to be around. He
is an in your pocket type horse, always
wants the attention and is the first one
to greet you at the gate. Not an
aggressive horse in the pasture but he
does run the herd, unless their all with
our clyde, then he's next in line. These
pictures aren't the best, I took them
this morning just to get him listed and
I'm hoping to get some better ones this
weekend.
