Poppy is a very well behaved 13.1hh grey
pony mare.
She is sound and well
trained. Poppy halters, leads, ties,
cross ties, is great for the vet and the
farrier. Poppy is a very high candidate
for Trillium or A circuit Jumpers or
Short Stirrup classes.
She has been
shown at schooling shows and always
places. Judges comments are usually that
she should be competing at a higher
level.
She would need to be ridden
and trained to get back into shape.
Poppy has been ridden and has had
some training with A circuit rider who
has a great deal of faith in this girl.
She is not a complete beginner’s
mount as she can have a pony attitude at
times, but is not mean. She handles
extremely well. At times she can be hard
to catch but comes for feed and other
times she walks right up to
you.
Poppy has also been used for
lessons for intermediate riders.
It
is important to note that she was placed
in the adoption program by her owner due
to lack of space and the amount of
beginner riders she needed mounts for.
As stated Poppy is not for beginner
riders, nor would she be suitable for
lead line. She is sound with no known
health issues and has clean
legs.
Ownership will be given after a
3 year term adoption, however at this
time we do not wish to place Poppy in a
schooling atmosphere, and would like to
see her with one owner, who has goals to
compete at the A or Trillium
level.
Since Poppy is sound for
riding, we will not place her in a
breeding home, nor is she suitable as a
games pony.
