CATCH IS NINE YEARS OLD ---NOT FOUR AS I
STATED IN VIDEOS....(i'M SORRY, MY
MISTAKE).
Catch is a sweet, cute,
stylish gaiting horse that is so much
fun to ride! He does have a fast
gait.....was shown in some speed classes
and done well - but he has been trail
rode all of his life - including
traveling, camping trips, and very
difficult trails!
He has a fast
gait, and sometimes will step off when
mounting --- so I would not recommend
him for Beginner - Timid riders or
Children. He does stop on voice command
with gentle touch of the reins- He has a
very easy mouth. Catch will cross
ditches, creeks, logs, and go through
bushes, woods, and is also traffic
broke.
He rides with
4-wheelers.....is not afraid of barking
dogs, cycles....semi's, sirens, - he has
seen it all!
Catch has years of
experience and is an amazing trail
horse! I took the videos that are
posted on youtube.com ----- back in
September when he first arrived....he
needed shod......so his gaits - in those
videos----do not look as good as he
really is. He has a lot of style! He
does not break his gait.....
At
that time, he had been rode fast much of
the time.....Since being here, we have
worked with him....and now he has a slow
motion walk....a lot of patience.....he
listens, and seems very content that he
doesn't have to perform with fast speed
when rode.
And yes, he will gait fast
and come back down to a very slow gait
or walk on voice command. He rides
front, middle or back, and rides the
speed the rider wants. He does not pull
on the bit to go faster, and he will go
off alone away from a group.
He
is a horse with a very sweet
disposition.....He does have to be
caught with feed.....he is not one to
just walk up to you without it. Other
than that, and that he steps off when
mounting, he has no other negative
behaviors. He will be a fun horse for
experienced riders who love to have
speed when they want it!
