Onyx is a gorgeous gentle mare with tons
of trail experience. She was used by a
trail stable and was used to 100 miles a
week in riding. She steps out and really
covers ground effortlessly. She loads
and unloads obediently, easy to catch,
drops her head to be haltered, ties,
stands quietly for mounting and
saddling. Very patient under saddle. She
will stand quiet for long periods of
time without fussing. When you ask her
to go ...she goes..not lazy :) She rides
middle, front or at the back of a group.
She rides alone and will leave the barn.
Super smooth !!! No matter what gait she
is in. She does a running walk on a
loose rein. She picks up both leads for
the canter on cue. She has a happy look
on her face as she cruises down trail.
She is being trail ridden by a 16 year
old girl until she sells. She was traded
in for a Paso Fino and we just don't
have a job for her. The more we get to
know her the more we like her. She has
done everything we have asked of her
beautifully. She has shown no desire to
buck, rear or take off. She is very
friendly and bonds easily with people.
This is a well broke sweet gaited trail
horse. Beautiful, good minded, smooth
riding horse come try her out. She does
like to walk faster back to the barn but
can be checked. Lots of personality and
very affectionate. She comes over and
says "hello" everytime we go into the
pasture. In an arena is quiet enough to
teach a beginner-out on trail has some
spunk and needs a rider with basic
riding skills.
