Flicka is a 7 year old Haflinger
mare. She has a very sweet temperament
and has been compared to a "big dog".
She first came from an Amish farm where
we were told she was taught to drive. We
do not own a cart, so we can not say for
sure if she can drive. She has been
started over jumps, and is doing quite
well. Flicka would be best for an
intermediate rider. She is VERY eager to
learn. She has been started on the trail
and hasn't spooked once. We even rode
past railroad construction and she's
been introduced to EquiSoccer! (Soccer
for horses) She stands on cross ties,
for the farrier, and loads in a trailer
no problem. She is UTD on all shots and
has a negative Coggins. She is a laid
back horse but will move quite quick at
a trot. She is lovely bareback and has
smooth gates. I believe she can still be
registered, but in order to do that I
would have to write to the Amish people
who originally had her. She'd be great
for pony club or 4H!
Flicka will do
best on a farm with lots of pasture, as
she requires very little grain.
