I have an 11 year old Thoroughbred
gelding for lease.
I will be getting
surgery in December, and I need someone
to lease him to keep him worked, so
hopefully not all of our hard work
disappears over the 4 months I won't be
able to ride.
He is just shy of
17hh, and the most calm thoroughbred I
have ever met. He has jumped up to a
3'6'' oxer with a 3' spread, with a TON
of potential to go higher.
He has
evented in the past, up to the last
level before Prelim (clearly he did not
event with me). I bought him 2.5 years
ago, and he had not been ridden in 2
years. He had a lot of confidence issues
when I bought him that we have been
working on over coming.
He has a
lovely, springy trot, and a beautiful
and very comfortable canter. We work on
some low-level dressage stuff, but I
have no formal dressage training myself.
With his previous owner I am told he
trained up to 2nd Level. He will go into
a frame at the walk, trot, canter, and
hand gallop. Keeping the frame during
the transitions he definitely needs work
on.
He also does flying changes, and
will go through small bounces.
I
am looking for a confident rider who has
a nice seat and quiet hands at the walk,
trot, and canter. Jumping experience not
necessary.
The barn I board him
at is in Galena, OH. Stone's Throw Farm.
It has a large, insulated indoor arena
for year-round riding.
If you
are interested, please let me know.
Thanks!
