Belle is a 15hh, 17yo standardbred mare,
has been ridden western and english.
Has jumped 3' courses, flying changes;
also jumped x-country. Ground covering
stride, big trot for her size. When you
get her on the bit, she rounds up
through her whole body with a big swing.
Her previous owner (adult beginner,
western rider) said that she has a
really great stop and spin. She is
obedient, quick and responsive; loves to
go, without being hot. I've galloped
her out on the trail and her speed is
very adjustable. And that trot! If you
open her up on the trail, she can really
trot! Hear the wind whistle past your
ears! She has excellent recovery time
after a workout. Belle did race and
that fitness they develop as youngsters
has stayed with her.
My 10yo
daughter was learning to ride on Belle
last year and doing well. My 5yo
daughter rides her around the paddock at
the walk. We have been given a 14hh
pony (grand-daughter of my first horse)
and now Belle is that 'extra' horse that
isn't being ridden.
I took her
in the BHA horse show in Grand Forks,
Oct 3/4. She was great fun in the
games, very obedient (yes, I did
gymkhana in english tack; just a little
out of place) and although doing games
the day before the performance classes
wasn't the best idea, as she was a bit
forward for the English Pleasure :)
Belle placed 3rd in a couple classes.
Excellent ground manners;
clips, baths, loads, great for vet and
farrier. Good feet, is barefoot.
