This is a 7 year old off the track
Thoroughbred Gelding. He is
approximately 16'1 and a bright red
Chestnut with only white markings on his
head. He has been raced consistenly
until about 2 months ago. He has minimal
off the track training, but is going
well. He is level headed and not prone
to spooking like typical thoroughbreds.
He ties well and has great hooves. He
currently goes barefoot, but he is very
used to being shod. He does have an
osselet on his left front. He got it
when he was a 2 year old, however, he
had complete recovery and has been sound
ever since. He has raced the last 5
years with the osselet and has had NO
problems. He is an EASY keeper. He is
maintaining on grass and 6lbs of grain
daily. He could stand to cut back, but
with winter coming we just wanna keep
him fat. He wears a medium tree saddle,
egg butt snaffle and tom thumb copper
mouth shank and has been ridden both
western and english. He is EXTREMELY
fast and would work well for someone
interested in training him a barrel
pattern or training him on poles. He
doesn't neck rein right now, but we have
been working him on it and he is making
progress. He could do some of the
english disciplines, primarily in the
Jumpers class. If his rider will train
him on jumping, he will get you through
the course with the fastest time.
Because of his mass ability with speed,
he is NOT suitable for a beginner rider.
He will need a rider with a solid seat
and good balance. He is built like a
quarter horse even though he is a
registered thoroughbred. His selling
feature is he beautiful head. He truly
is gorgeous and will turn heads.
Although he has raced, we are not
willing to place him back into a racing
home. He is RETIRED from his racing
career and the new owner will have to
commit to making sure he doesn't go back
on the track. Please email or call if
you would like to come see him or ride
him. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.
