PPR Blues Skip A Star (or "Mulie" as we
call her) is a 2005 bay overo mare
registered with the American Paint Horse
Association #859345. I believe she's
around 15.1HH, but haven't measured
lately. She was bought as a weanling and
hauled from Manitoba with the intent for
her to be my future trail and pleasure
riding mount. However as my riding
skills have improved, my goals have
changed and I am looking into more
demanding disciplines to specialize in
and unfortunately Mulie just isn't cut
out for them. So sadly, I feel that it
is in her best interest to be
sold.
For the most part, Mulie
has been on 24/7 turnout her whole life
and just been allowed to grow up without
much interference. She's an extremely
easy keeper tending to stay on the
chubby side so a grazing muzzle may be
needed if turnout is in lush pastures
regularly. She's not given grain and
only minimal hay when the weather turns
snowy. Plans had been to start her under
saddle this past summer but a new job
and other horses pushed her to the side.
She was lunging decently and being
introduced to tack (bridle + saddle)
last fall, but hasn't been exposed much
since.
We vaccinate on a three
year rotation and she was last
vaccinated in December of 2007. She is
NOT trained to load nor has she been
trailered in quite some time. Mulie is
also quite sensitive with the handling
of her legs and feet. While she has not
offered to kick, time and patience must
be used when working on her legs and
hooves. She is very nervous, uncertain
and leery when you're working with them,
particularly the hinds, but they can be
picked up with quiet determination and
persistance. Rough handling will not
improve this aspect of her nature. She
does not now nor has she ever worn
shoes.
This mare sells with her
APHA Registration Certificate and it is
in order and ready to be transferred.
Have many photographs available,
just email and will be happy to send
them.
