We haven't had Mr. very long in our
lesson program, but we are an English
riding facility. He has gone with us to
local fun Rodeos and has great potential
with barrels, poles, etc. as he will
easily neck rein and throw leads. We
took him to camping trip with cattle and
buffalo and he easily worked to cut the
cattle and showed no fear of anything.
He is great with ferrier and great feet.
up to date on everything shot wise. he
cross ties, loads, ties easily to
trailer. He is very good western and
understands neck reining and may be
rusty on his leg yielding but he does
seem to know it. However, we tried to
convert him English. He will jump
anything you put in front of him with no
fear, but he does not like ring work or
going in circles or repetitive dressage
movements. In the ring he with lessons
he will refuse to go and when kicked or
tapped with whip he will throw buck then
go, but I have never seen these types of
behaviors while on trails. He has done
moonlight rides and had kids as young as
7 on his back. He is obviously
comfortable with western and I think I
could ruin him or sour him if I try to
convert him English. I definately think
he would be safe enough to shoot off of
with training and he will cross rivers,
bridges, etc. He does not have a head
set of western pleasure horse, but with
some work he does have western jog and
on trail can lope, so he could do trail
classes. He is easy to catch, lead, and
handle alone or in group. He is dominate
horse in field, but will move out of my
way when I get other horses. I took him
as favor for friend to try in our lesson
program, but again I am afraid that ring
work would sour him. We used him mostly
for rodeo games, and trails and camping
trips with couple riders that I have who
do ride Western, but he is not worth me
keeping for so few riders. I have
photos, email for pics. and call me if
