I have owned Beauty for 4 yrs. The
first summer I had her we did some
riding. She was cowboy broke and had
been used for some roping. I got her
going at a slower pace then she ended up
being in foal so I didn't ride her the
next year. After having her foal(Beauty
was a fantastic mother!) she proved to
be a huge challenge to get going again
the next summer but I did it and we rode
the next summer. I don't have the
facilities or the want to ride in the
winter months so next spring she was
difficilt to get riding agian and with
some unfortunate personal events I could
not get on her until fall and once again
could not continue alot of training.
This last spring I took her to a stable
where we did a couple months of
professional training and got her teeth
done which turned out were very bad and
was half the problem. We were riding
beautifully in the ring and on the
trail. She is a mover and needs to be
first on the trail and in the ring. She
has a strong personality. We kept it up
for a couple months at home then time
again became an issue for me and my
routine with her. I am finding she is
slipping back into her old ways again so
after lots of soul searching I have
decided it is time to let her go. She
needs a home where someone has the
desire to ride her a few times a week to
keep her going. I think she is bred to
be a ranch horse and that is where she
belongs to work. Once you get her going
she is great. But riding her every now
and then just is not working. She has
excellent ground manners and farriers
well. She is up to date on all shots
and farrier work. I have done alot of
roundpen work with her and enjoyed her
immensly that way. She just needs more
in the riding department than I can give
her. She is a diamond in the rough.
