Outlaw is 7 years old and is between
15.1 and 15.3hh. He was broke to ride by
his previous owners, but they also
mistreated him badly. He came to me with
a dent in his forehead, but refused to
tell me what had happened. He is head
shy and doesn't like taking a bit, but i
used a hackamore on him once or twice
and he took the bridle without trouble
and was just fine with it. I have
started back working him and riding him.
He has been doing so good. He is great
to ride bareback with just his
hackamore, but he does alright with the
saddle. If I had another horse I would
try to pony around with my 9 year old
nephew riding him. If he could over come
his spooky nature he would be an awesome
horse. He has never kicked or bit
before. I'm not sure if he has bolted
before or not, but I haven't seen him do
anything except trot in a circle when he
has been spooked with me riding him.
He doesn't bathe very well and he
does not tie. I have tried everything
short of a stud chain to tie him, but it
has not worked. He has broke three lead
ropes(one of which was the actual rope
not hardware), one lunge line and a
breakaway halter. He is very strong and
has almost pulled up a post, but as long
as someone is holding him he does
alright.
He loads good and hauls
good as well. He is due for his shots
and coggins and will have them soon. He
does alright with dogs although he is
not fond of them. He is okay with
childern even though he has not been
around them much for me to really tell.
He gets spooked by 4wheelers and
tractors but when they are off he will
approach to investigate.
Outlaw is
a little nervous around strangers but
once he gets to know you he will greet
you at the fence and call to you. He
will let you walk up to him in the
pasture and allow you to grab his halter
and either lead him or put the rope on
him. Every once in a while we can get
him to just follow us around like a dog.
He does love his treats and his pot
belly proves it!
I am selling him
because I don't have the time to get him
back where he needs to be and my
boyfriend does not have the experience
to ride him. I feel a person with a
little bit of experience with a horse
can do alright with him, but it would
help if they could help get the spook
out of him. I am selling him for 300$
because I would like for him to go
somewhere today so he can go to a loving
home and be helped better than I can do.
He is kind of a mutt, his previous owner
said he had saddlebred mixed with him,
but was not sure. I have owned Outlaw
for about 3 years and for about a year
now he had not been rode but he has been
started back. I want himm to go to a
good loving home only.
