Jackie is FREE to a GOOD home.
I
am looking to find a new home for my 16
y.o WB broodmare. Her sire is Pik
Winland and her dam was a TB. She is
registered with the Purebred Hanoverian
Society which was the registry that most
or all of Pik Winland's foals were
registered with, from what I understand.
She has been approved for GOV, OLD NA,
and RPSI so her foals may be registered
with any of those registries.
She was in training as a high
level jumper and injured her navicular
bone (fracture) and was retired to a
broodmare (I think that this happened
when she was around 6 y.o or so, but I
am not certain). She is sound for light
riding, but I have not ridden her over a
year. The only time she has even been
off on her injured foot is when her feet
were trimmed a little too short. Besides
that, she has always looked good.
She had her last foal in May
2008. Prior to when I owned her, she got
a hernia on her lower abdomen near her
flank from where a horse kicked her. She
had surgery on it in January of 2008 to
mend it. The vet was able to mend it,
but during recovery it did tear a little
bit. So now it is a very small hernia.
The vet looked at it before and after
she had her foal in May of 2008 and said
that it was fine and that it should
never be a problem. It has not been an
issue since then, but it is something
that I keep my eye on.
She is
also a cribber. When she is in the
pasture, she is not bad about it. She
has been out in the pasture without a
collar for a few months now and I rarely
see her crib. If she is in a stall, she
does need a collar.
She is easy
to handle. Stands well for the vet and
the farrier. I can hold her in the stall
by myself for ultrasounds and
palpations, etc. She is good about
getting on the trailer. She is a good
mother to her foals, she loves her
babies. I have just not had the time and
money to breed her.
A good home
is a must and I would appreciate any
references. Please message me with any
questions or for photos. Thank you!!
