Angel is a 4 1/2 yr old palomino and
white pinto mare, who was severely
neglected before I got her, and possibly
abused at some point in her life. I got
Angel for free as an "add in" with a
horse my mother had purchased. My plan
was to rehabilitate Angel, and train her
to be a riding horse. When I brought her
home, She was skin and bones, with a
very rough coat and very much full of
parasites. You could not even get near
enough to her to touch her, let alone
get a halter on her. We were able to
finally get her in a small enough area
to get a halter on her, and get her
dewormed. You still cannot walk up to
her in the pasture to pet her, but if
you again, get her in a small stall or
pen, you can touch her then, and worm
her, and she does LOVE to be scratched,
she just needs that security of a pen
for now. Angel is still not up to her
ideal weight by a long shot, but does
definately look better than when we
brought her home.
My plan was to
rehabilitate Angel and another mare I
recieved, and train them to ride. I
ended up with not enough time this
summer, and some other things came up,
that were beyond my control. I can't
stand the thought of these two nice
mares just standing around in my
pasture, when the right person has to be
out there somewhere, that can gain these
girls' trust, and give them a productive
job to do!
Both Angel and her
friend Stormy are free to the right
homes. You can take one or the other, or
both. They need to go to someone with
enough time to spend with them, or the
resources to send them to an appropriate
trainer. I have neither at this point,
and finding homes for these two girls
will still leave me with 4 horses to
love!
Please give these girls a
chance, and give them good homes and a
