This is Sophie. She is a light chestnut
pinto pony mare with flax mane and tail
and lots of chrome! She is five years
old, (born May 21, 2004) and has been
handled and worked with since she was
born. Sophie leads and ties very well,
and she can be easily groomed, dewormed,
clipped, bathed, and will stand quietly
for the farrier to trim her feet. Her
hooves are extremely hard, and she can
go barefoot all the time. Her teeth were
checked and floated on May 11, 2009, and
she received a tetanus shot at the same
time.
Sophie has not been
trained for riding or driving, however
she learns very fast, is willing, and
likes people a lot! It should be very
easy to train her for either purpose.
She has had a harness on before, and was
very calm and accepting with it, but she
has not had any real training in
driving. She would make a lovely
pleasure driving pony, or she would be
wonderful as a child's pony.
Sophie is very friendly, and
will almost always come up to anyone out
in the field! When she is turned out,
she gets along well with other horses
and likes having company.
