Charlie is a very handsome 2003 black
Quarter Horse gelding, 15.2 hands tall.
He has been ridden english, western,
trail ridden and shown. He loads,
clips, bathes, good with farrier and
vet. Charlie is up to date on all
vaccinations for 2009, has a current
coggins, and has been on a regular
schedule of dewormings, hoof care, and
dental work.
Charlie would be best
suited in a home where he will be used
gently, as he has some arthritis in one
fetlock (result of an old injury). We
have been riding him without a problem,
but he won't hold up to a career of
jumping or barrel racing if that is what
you are looking to do!
He would make
a great 2nd horse on the farm, used for
light trail riding or showing
occasionally in walk/trot classes. We
showed him this summer in some dressage
classes, and he placed well in large,
competitive classes.
Our vet
suggested we use Bute if needed, and/or
put him on a joint supplement, which we
haven't found the need to do at this
point. As long as you don't plan to ride
him hard, he will probably be fine for a
long, long time. I run a lesson program
of jumping and dressage, and I won't put
him through that.
Charlie is a really
friendly horse; loves his treats, loves
attention, will meet you at the gate.
