YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A BUYER BEWARE
HERE !!
Our pony has a history as do
all but, we will disclose all to you as
well as give referrences, our trainer's
#, and full access to our veterinarian
records to you. We do need to sell as
we have no more room at the barn, so to
speak, but we will allow a trial (to
good home, also w/referrences) if you
need one as we are confident and want a
great home for this pony and not a quick
sale with a disappointed buyer and have
our pony not be loved or well cared for.
FULL DESCRIPTION BELOW:
"Dream"
will be a pony your child can learn with
and be safe. We bought her when our
daughter was 3 yrs old to accomplish
just that confidence, Dream was 4 then
and was being used as a lesson horse by
our trainer. She is a beautiful liver
chestnut, very cute with a body more
like a horse, not the pony look. She
has very fine legs and a welch pony face
and head. Her hair is short-never needs
to be clipped aside from the ears and
face before the shows. She is safe in
the stall and on the ground with 10
little girls crowding around her and
dragging her around the yard - or
painting her w/chalk paint! She puts up
with it! She does not bite or kick. If
your child was alone with her in the
stall you'd never have to worry. She
will help build that confidence in horse
care for your pre-rider. She is great
for the farrier and vet, she loads
easily - just walks in and clips easily
too. She's been in the childrens shows
these last few years but she will
trail-ride for hours -she loves to trail
ride the best; we've been on 5 hour
rides with overnight camping w/her. Our
14 yr old daughter learned to ride with
this pony at age 10. She loves
pretending to be dog and follow you
around and put her head in your
lap.
She is up to date on coggins =
Sept '09-10.
Teeth were floated Tues.
Sept. 29th.
Vaccines will be due
again in 2 months. She is in CYTEC
shoes up front if used for lessons or
show, otherwise she can be barefoot.
She can do w/t, low poles. Crossrails
have been done and lead changes need
further training for the shows. Jumping
her any higher is not recommended since
it would put risk to her
fetlocks/suspensory ligaments. Anyway,
she doesn't like to jump any higher.
We began using her for leadline when
our daughter was 3, our daughter is now
7 1/2 yrs old and needs a stepping stone
pony for the shows. Dream will pull and
challenge her rider once in awhile
(classic pony) so she needs a child who
has evolved enough in riding/arm
strength to redirect her when she does
this. If you are buying her for the
shows specifically then I recommend her
for lead-line and then skip to advanced
beginner-w/trainer, new beginners would
be pulled over to the grass and not be
able to learn. Advanced beginners =
young girls 8 yrs old w/1 year of riding
have done fine on her at our trainers
facility during lessons.
This is a
learned behavior and if your child
doesn't let her get away with it, it
will stop. We put anti-grazing lines on
her and it worked perfectly. Dream has
had some professional training and will
respond well with more.
She is not
spooky, in fact I have only recently
seen her jump at a Tennessee Walker that
was coming at her in the September show,
the exaggerated head movement did it.
Otherwise I have never seen her spook on
the trail or ring or show in last 4
years. She will walk over any thing in
her path rather than trip or spook.
Dream is very used to machinery,
tractors, cars, atv's, children running
and yelling, etc. She will not flinch,
in fact walks right by our working
backo, etc.
I will be posting a
picture and video of our 8 yr old son
and 7 yr old daughter actively swinging
a rope in circles over Dreams head,
around her neck and flank, etc. - she
does not flinch ! will post after
12/15/09.
One more reason I bought
her for our daughter.
She gets along
with all animals (we have many) but
other horses do pick on her, she is
wimpy that way but will bond with other
mares.
We can trailer her to you
depending on how far you are.
She
will be w/trainer again after
10/10.
update:
12/09 - Dream is
now home to stay until sold.
She is a
very sweet pony but we need to clear
room in the barn.
She has been used
by us and will be good for the
following:
lessons, trail, family
horse, pony rides,
at shows:
lead-line, walk, w/t, w/t-poles.
She
must have a kind, consciencious new
owner to love her.
As our daughter
loves her and will never forget
her!
