25yr old Thoroughbred gelding, and I am
looking to attend Illinois State
University next year. I am trying to
weigh the possibilities for what I
should do with him. He is a great horse,
and loves kids. I have had children as
young as 4 ride him outside, with no
problems. He can be trail ridden, or
arena ridden. NOT spooky at all!!! He
would be great for someone who has
children, or even a lesson program. He
can carry up to 115lbs with no problem.
He has never been lame (other than
sometimes his feet being sore after
being trimmed)
The only down fall, is
that he has little-to no back teeth
anymore. He was Over-Floated throughout
his life. He maintains his weight well
with one scoop of senior twice a day,
and then I just soak some beet pulp in
the morning, and hay cubes at night. (Or
just hay cubes 2X's a day) The cost, is
probably just about as much as it would
be for normal hay.. its just alittle
more work. He means alot to me, but i
know it would be very hard to try and
bring him with me. I want to see him be
used for something, because he is still
very sound, and loves to be ridden. I
would be willing to do a "free lease"
with him, as I do want him back
eventually. If the situation doesnt work
out, I will take him back no question.
Just let me know, I know it might seem
soon to be setting something up.. like I
said I am just trying to get a feel for
what my options are. And if you think he
is what you are looking for, please let
me know and we can set something up!
Thanks-
