Can't afford a Fresian? This guy is a
"poor man's" Fresian. The only thing
that gives it away is that his tail is
docked!
Dakota is a black, 7 year
old, Percheron cross gelding. He's a
tall boy standing nearly 18H and he
turns heads! For such a large horse, he
moves out very well and has a smooth,
flowing trot and canter.
Dakota
will stand tied, is good for the
farrier, and loads okay. I recently took
him to a 3-day cow working clinic in
Port Clinton...it was a riot and he
chased those cows around as well as any
of the Quarter Horses!
Dakota has
been an excellent and fun horse for
arena work. He's also good on trail with
other horses. He'll go though water,
over logs, etcs. However, he does
require an experienced rider if you plan
to ride him on trail alone. Currently,
Dakota is being ridden at least twice a
week and gets daily turnout.
I'm
selling Dakota because I mostly like to
trail ride and often have to ride alone.
I'm not a very confident rider, and as I
mentioned above, Dakota requires a
confident and experienced rider to go on
trail alone.
Update: I trailered
Dakota down to Millersburg, Ohio and let
some Amish guys see if he would drive
and he did great. They said he's
definitely been used for driving in the
past and he took to it again like a
champ.
I am willing to haul
Dakota to you within a reasonable
distance. If you have questions, please
contact Kelly. Thanks!
