Sadly, Jennifer
Truett is forced to sell her only
remaining competition horse, Lisalotte
DHF, because Lisalotte developed a cyst
in the navicular bursea of her right
front foot that causes occasional
lameness. The navicular and coffin
joints were injected and her foot was
treated with three Tildren treatments
with some success. Competing at the
lower levels is possible if someone
wants to invest in maintenance.
Lisalotte is exceptionally well
bred, by Hilda Gurney’s famous Grand
Prix stallion Leonidas (Condus/Siegbert)
and out of her FEI mare Willa
(Werther/Condus). Lisalotte’s full
brother, Luminence, is Hilda’s current
very successful Grand Prix mount.
Jennifer and Lenny bought Lisalotte from
Hilda as a suckling foal after she won
her Oldenburg/ISR Inspection and was
given Premium status with an 8.2 overall
score (Conf: 8.0, Movement: 8.3, Overall
Imp: 8.2).
Lisalotte is very
stocky and her barrel takes up
Jennifer’s long legs surprisingly well
for a 15.2 hand horse. She is much
smaller than her siblings who average
16.1-17 hands presumably because of the
heavy duty steroids she was administered
as a yearling as part of a life saving
procedure after she contracted plural
pneumonia from OCD surgery
complications. Despite her small size,
she will likely produce "normal" 16 hand
sized foals.
