Zoey is a 14 year old, dark bay Quarter
Horse mare. Her registered name is
Little Zircons Tyan. Zoey was
originally purchased to be part of my
lesson program as she was easy to ride
and well trained. After much
consideration on my part however, it has
been decided that Zoey needs a confident
rider over the age of 12 who will able
to ride her the way that she likes to be
ridden. She is very responsive to leg
aids and has been trained in western
pleasure. She goes English as well and
has a nice extended trot. She is also
good at showmanship – she will perform a
perfect turn on the haunches, squares up
nicely and will jog on command. She is
great on trails and can be ridden out
alone.
Zoey does not like being
“loved” on by kids – she likes to be
brushed and tacked-up quickly and will
not tolerate hugs and kisses or being
hung all over as kids tend to do. She
is not dangerous for children to handle
and our students are able to lead her to
and from the pasture without difficulty,
but she would just rather not be around
the younger set.
Zoey gets along
well with her pasture mates and is easy
to catch. She is an easy keeper, has no
soundness issues and is good for both
the vet and farrier. She is current on
all her vaccinations and recently had a
float. She was on Regumate this past
summer as I thought that this would help
with her attitude toward being “loved” –
it did improve her mood and control her
heat cycles, but did not influence her
attitude on hugs and kisses enough to
make her 100% kid friendly.
Price
is negotiable to the right home. Trades
for a beginner friendly horse or pony
will also be considered. Good
temperament a must, age less important.
