11 year old Gelding, Dappled Flea-Bitten
Grey. Stands 14.1hh “sticked”. Guessed
to be Trotter-bred, possibly mixed with
Arabian or Quarter Horse, but is
definitely a Heinz 57 horse. Rides
extremely smooth in all paces, even when
jumping, but is not gaited. Rides
Western, English or Bareback. Rides on
bit (simple snaffle) and has been ridden
in hackamore as well. Lunges through
paces, over cavaletties, with riders,
etc. Understands verbal commands- walk,
trot/jog, canter/lope, lengthen
stride/faster speed, shorten
stride/slower speed, whoa/halt, backup,
come forward, “hup” (jump), etc. Trail
Rides (including all day and double
back), Pony Ties, Hauls (logs, barrels,
etc.), Trailers, Cold-hose bathes, Trims
Hooves and Shoes well (though we have
kept him barefoot for the past 4-5
years). Rides through water, but
sometimes it takes some work as he likes
to stop and start pawing & splashing the
water around. Great around people,
wildlife, dogs, vehicles, etc. has been
used for carnival horseback rides. Has
been a field horse and kept on
free-range hay, though loves the spoiled
life of a Stable horse (when he’s Show
Jumping). Has excellent ground manners,
is confident and level-headed. Rides
just as well after 1 month of sitting in
the pasture as he does if ridden every
day. He willingly allows you to slide
off hindquarters, pull his tail, crawl
under his belly, complete an around the
world (turning yourself around 360
degrees while on his back) and ride in
just a halter & lead rope. He has
competed well in these Western events at
fun shows through horse camps and
such-he has not been formally trained
for any of these events: Barrel Racing,
Pole Bending, Flag racing, Magazine
race, Plug race and Ride-A-Buck(dollar).
He was feared and admired by most all
the other competitors. Has trained and
competed in the English event Show
Jumping and is now semi-retired from
Jumping. Competed at 2’6”-2’9”. After
only a year of training, on his own and
his novice rider’s first show out he
brought home 2 first place trophy cups
and the Championship ribbon for his
division (the show had approx. 11-18
horses per class). Good for started
beginners through experienced riders.
Needs a confident rider. Not for passive
riders or cocky riders. He chooses his
rider. Pictures upon request. Will only
be sold to an approved home. We are not
in a rush to sell. $1,200 FIRM, plus
“right of first refusal”.
