Red is an awesome 20 year old sorrell
15.2 hand TWH gelding. Only reason we
are willing to sell him is because
daughter has lost interest in riding and
wants a car. He will do anything you ask
of him. Has been a showed, field trail,
games, parades, trails, 4H, expos, drill
team, lessons, kiddie rides. He is easy
to catch, halter, lead, tie, brush,
bathe, clip, bridle, saddle, trailer,
vet, farrier. He has been ridden,
barback, dauble, even triple, western,
english, saddleseat, hunter, jumped. Do
not let his age fool you, he is still
very fast wins at games. Steady no spook
reliable, trail horse, will take you any
where across filed with tall grass,
briars, over logs, over creeks, through
rivers, ponds. Is barefoot, excellent
feet,, teeth have been powerfloated
every year we have had him. UTD on
worming and vacc. He can have a nice
running walk, but takes somone that
knows how to ride to make him stay in
it, but he will still win at shows. He
is quick, and turns easly, neck reins
like a dream. Can do some tricks, will
park out, makes it easier to get on,
hug, and bow. Like I said he is a once
in a life time horse, I hate to sell
him, but 1 daughter has project horse
and other daughter wants a car. E-mail
for lots of pictures and videos. The
ONLY negative thing I have to say about
this guy is that he is not an "easy
keeper" He takes some groceries to keep
him looking good, our horses and
constantly being ridden and are very
fit, there is no fat on them, and he can
not afford to get any thinner, so a good
home a must. You ask why such a big
price tag on an older horse, this is an
amazing animal, and I will sell him for
no less, he will take his rider safely
many joy filled miles. He loves little
kids, would make a great kids horse, but
they should know how to ride, becasue he
is very responsive to ques. He will ride
in groups or alone, buddy and barn
soureness are not issues. You can put in
any kind of bit, from snaffle, to gaited
to halter and lead rope he does not
care. He is a very forgiving horse, you
can tell by his ears if someone is
yanking his mouth around, but he is
respectful of his rider and will not
hurt them, but if you have soft hands he
will ride very nice and easy. Flat walk,
running walk, canter/lope, and he even
racks, and will full out gallop and beat
younger horses, best of all he has a
nice whoah, can be ridden with legs,
hands or verbal ques. He has even been
driven a bit. Does not care who rides
him, beginners to advanced have loved
him. Husband safe horse, that is what he
was bought for my husband to hunt off of
till my teenage daughter "stole him
away". At last 4H fair, he was ridden by
12 different kids, all loved him, did
double games off of him. He won
barrells, got 2nd in poles, did ok in WP
and EP even though he is an older
walking horse.
