Due to the economy, I am having to sell
my beautiful boy.
Oscar is a 10
yr old, 17hh Belgian sport horse cross.
He is a PMU rescue but bears no
neurological, physical or mental
disabilities. I've had him for the past
3 years and he has been a joy to own. He
is solely an English horse but is ridden
frequently in a western saddle and knows
some light neck reining. He has been
schooled sporadically in basic dressage
and with a little work would be ready
for training level in no time. He knows
leg ques, leg yields, leads, walk to
canter, halt to canter, and is working
on smoother downward transitions. He is a
jumper, but due to my own knee injury we
have only been lightly schooling 2ft off
and on for this past summer. he has
jumped 3ft courses with room to go
higher, would make a great cross country
prospect. He needs an experienced rider
over fences since he is a little hot,
but with consistent work he cools fairly
quickly, i just can't give him that with
a torn ligament. on the flat he is cool
enough for anyone to ride. he is
currently used in lesson program
teaching beginner adults english riding.
I have also used him for small children
lessons, as young as five, on and off
the longe line, and in kids camps and he
has been a dream.
He is a bit
spooky on trails but is calming down
rather quickly the more he experiences
them, but would need a confident rider
for a bit longer to help him gain his
confidence. He does well in the back
middle and front of a trail group, isn't
heard bound or barn sour, just a little
insecure. He would make a great husband
horse, he is patient and willing in the
saddle and on the ground. I have also
ground driven him with Blinders on and
he took to it like a natural, I just
never had the time to hook him up to a
cart and finish his driving training but
he would be a wonderful driving horse.
He knows his voice commands and listens
to them well when ground driving and in
the saddle.
He has experience
with a little bit of everything and is
ready for someone to finish him off in
any discipline they desire. I hate to
sell him but I cannot afford to keep him
or give him the time he deserves. UTD on
shots clips, bathes, loads ties, sound,
barefoot, respectful, wonderful ground
manners, no vices. His price is
negotiable to good home only. Ideally I
would love an intermediate to advanced
rider to take him and make something of
him, but I am not picky and will sell
him to anyone willing to give my guy a
wonderful home and the opportunity for
me to keep in contact. I am also leasing
him until hes sold. Included with him
would be his fly sheet, blanket, bridle,
your choice between 2 saddles, saddle
pads and girth.
